Travel to Thailand most spectacular resort towns...

To get most of my fan out of the recent tension in gold business. I'd like to bring you to visit Thailand most spectacular resort towns. I will start with the city of Pattaya. This city is situated on the south east of Bangkok and will take about one and a half hour drive. Pattaya is the heaven for every person, it has all kind of accommodation starting from the 5 stars down to the city guest house with only U.S.$ 5.00 per night. The only thing that it doesn't have is the gambling house. But you can check out most of the water sport and outdoor sports.

This is the picture of the north Pattaya where all the actions take place. If you don't like this urban atmosphere then you can drive or take a public transport down south a little further. Then you will find the real heaven called Hadd Jomtien just like in this next picture.

In Pattaya, not only sun and sand that you will get as much as you like but also a great number of interesting landmarks such as the Great Buddha inscribed in the mountain side. And Wat Yarnnasankavararam nearby.




Also, if you are not a religious person, there are many attractions for you to explore such as the Mini Siam. The miniature town that has all the great places in the Great Kingdom of Thailand. So stay tune for more information.

ในเรื่องการศึกษา....ขอให้ตั้งความหวังให้สูง

สวัสดีครับบบบเพื่อนๆ หยุดไปหลายวันเพราะมีกิจธุระที่ต้องทำ วานนี้ผมมาตรวจอีเมล์ถึงทราบว่ามีผู้ปกครองหลายท่านที่ได้ส่งคำถาม เกี่ยวกับการศึกษา ผมขอตอบท่านเลยครับว่า ขอให้ท่านและลูกตั้งความหวังให้สูง อย่าคิดว่าเราไม่มีความสามารถ เด็กไทยทุกคนหากมีผู้สนับสนุนและให้กำลังใจ เด็กเราจะสามารถที่จะทำอะไรก็ได้ การที่น้องจะไปเรียนที่อังกฤษ ในมหาวิทยาลัย อ็อกฟอร์ด หรือ เคมบริด์จ เป็นสิ่งที่เป็นไปได้ครับ ปัจจุบัน ผมรู้จักน้องคนหนึ่งที่กำลังจะเข้าไปศึกษาที่มหาวิทยาลัย อ็อกฟอร์ด น้องคนนี้เป็นนักเรียนโรงเรียนมาแตร์เดอี เมื่อเรียนจบม.6 แล้วก็ไปสอบชิงทุนได้เป็นนักเรียนทุนเล่าเรียนหลวง และปัจจุบันน้องกำลังเรียนซ้ำม.6 อยู่ที่อังกฤษ เพื่อที่จะเตรียมตัวเข้าเรียนต่ิอในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย เท่าที่ทราบมา น้องเขาได้รับการติดต่อจากมหาวิทยาลัย อ็อกฟอร์ด เรียบร้อยแล้วแต่ยังอยู่ระหว่างการเลือกคอลเลจที่จะไปเรียน


มีหลายๆคนที่มักจะมองว่าเด็กไทยไม่มีความสามารถ การที่จะเข้าเรียนต่อในมหาวิทยาลัยดังๆนั้น เขาไม่มีการสอบเข้าเหมือนกับของเรา แต่เขาจะมีกรรมวิธีในการที่ จะให้ผู้สมัครได้แสดงความสามารถพิเศษ อาจจะมีการเขียนเรียงความ เพื่อที่จะแนะนำตัวเอง ต้องมีผู้แนะนำที่ดี และมี credential ที่มหาวิทยาลัยเขารับรู้ ผมต้องเรียนให้ทราบนะครับว่า มหาวิทยาลัยดังๆของโลก มีคนอยากไปเรียนเยอะมาก ท่านต้องคำนึงถึงว่าคนทั้งโลกอยากจะไปเรียนที่นี่ ท่านไม่เพียงแต่ที่จะแข่งขันกับคนไทยเท่านั้น แต่ท่านต้องแข่งขันกับคนเก่งๆ ทั่งโลก แล้วท่านมีความสามารถพิเศษ อะไรที่ทางมหาฯ จะพิจารณาท่านก่อนคนอื่น ผมขอยกตัวอย่าง ลูกของเพื่อนที่สามารถเข้าเรียนต่อในมหาวิทยาลัย Stanford เนื่องจากระหว่างที่น้องเรียนอยู่ม.5 เกิดโศกนาถกรรม ซุนามิที่เขาหลัก น้องเขาได้อาสาไปช่วยคนประสบเหตุ จนได้รับบันทึกจากหน่วยงานขององค์การสหประชาชาติ ที่น้องลงไปนั้น เขาไปเป็นล่ามให้เจ้าหน้าที่ของ ยูเอ็น เพราะคนทางใต้ของเราไม่สามารถสื่อสารกับฝรั่งที่เข้ามาช่วยได้ ผลบุญนี้จึงส่งผลให้น้องได้รับเข้าเรียนต่อที่ Stanford University ซึ่งเป็นมหาฯที่ดีเด่นในอันดับต้นๆของโลก นี่เป็นเพียงตัวอย่างเล็กๆที่ เราควรสอนให้ลูกๆได้เข้าใจ มิใช่เด็กไทยเราเอาแต่เรียนและสอบแข่งขันเท่านั้น

เมื่อวาน ผมได้ไปเล่นกอล์ฟที่สนามกอล์ฟพลูตาหลวง...สัตหีบ

Yesterday, I went with RBSC Golf team to play against the Navy team at Plutaluang Navy Golf Course in Sattaheep. I haven't been there before but many friends of mine warned me about the fairway condition. They told me not to make a deep divot on the fairway because underneath is rock. But that was't true, I found out that the course has a very good condition and there are 4 courses to choose from, North..South East..West. The R.B.S.C. team had received a very warm welcome from the Commander in Chief of the Royal Navy at Sattaheep Navy Base.

This golf team competition has been for 31 years and it is considered one of the oldest of the club.

I'd like to give you a brief picture of this golf course. The course has been well maintained and especially this time of the year that there are plenty of rain, the fairway condition is superb and the green condition is very good. I had seen one of my group mates made a backspin when he hit the ball from the fairway. This was my first time to see a Thai player can do that with my eyes. It was a thrill. One special feature will be the Par-3 hole.

I can say that this hole made most of the R.B.S.C. team lost all of their golf balls. I had lost three balls and made a 10....very embarrassing. It is the green on the water and the landing area is very limited. The drop zone is on the other bank of the green so most of the players lost more balls on this drop zone.


The other feature is the tee off of most of the holes that are elevated above the fairway level. When I said elevated, most of the people can't figure out how much. I will tell you that most of them are about 4 storeys high. So when you tee off, you will be able to see your ball fly off to the fairway below. It really looks professional like in the television set. Anyone who never plays there, I will strongly recommend to take once in your life time to test playing at Plutaluang Golf Course. Anyone who had gone there but not recently, you should consider go there again and see the difference.

วันนี้ผมได้ไปประชุมร่วมกับ สศค เรื่อง Gold Future

วันนี้ผมได้มีโอกาศไปร่วมสัมมนากับทาง สศค โดยได้มีการนำผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่ได้ทำการวิจัย ในเรื่องตลาด Future ชื่อ ดร. นงนุช ที่ได้ทุนจากทางหน่วยงานราชการ ให้ทำการวิจัยสมัยที่เธอทำวิทยานิพนธ์ ปริญญาเอกที่ มหาวิทยาลัย York ที่ประเทศอังกฤษ และมีดร.รินใจ ไชยสุต จาก TFEX และ นพ.กฤชรัตน์ จากสมาคมค้าทองคำ รายละเอียดที่เข้าร่วมสัมมนานั้น ก็ไม่มีข้อมูลใหม่มากนัก ส่วนมากก็คือข้อมูลเก่าๆที่เคยนำมาเสนอ ผมทราบภายหลังว่าวันนี้ เป็น Public Hearings ซึ่งหน่วยราชการต่างๆต้องทำให้เป็น mandatory practice เพื่อที่จะนำเสนอต่อสภาผู้แทน ในที่ประชุม ส่วนมากจะเป็นข้าราชการสังกัดหน่วยต่างๆ อาทิ สศค ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย กลต ฯลฯ ที่มีจากภาคเอกชนก็มีสมาชิกจากสมาคมค้าทองคำ

ในที่ประชุม มีคุณ พรรณี สถาวโรดม ท่านผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานเศรษฐกิจการคลัง มาเป็นประธาณและท่านได้อยู่จนถึงจบ น่าชื่นชมจริงๆ ที่ท่านเห็นความสำคัญ จากที่ร่วมสัมมนา ผมคงต้องบอกว่า เราคงจะมีการเปิดตลาด ซื้อขายล่วงหน้า ในต้นปีหน้าอย่างแน่นอน ตามที่หน่วยราชการต่างๆบอกวา่าจากที่ทำวิจัยมา ตลาดเงินสดที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบัน จะไม่ถูกกระทบ แต่ผมขอยืนยันนะครับว่า ตลาดทองคำของเราจะถูกกระทบอย่างแน่นอน แต่ผมได้แต่หวังว่า จะกระทบอย่างสั้นๆ และไม่ทำให้ลูกค้าหมดความมั่นใจในตลาดทองของเราครับ

Jatujak Park...Weekend market

This weekend I just went to Jatujak Park where I haven't set foot in for over 10 years. The transportation,nowadays, is very convenient for every shoppers and if I may suggest to take the MRT(the subway) or BTS(the sky train). To avoid the fight for the parking spaces which are very limited in number and all the hustlers who are looking at the opportunity to get the money from your car, I strongly recommend to take the public transports.
For the sky train, BTS, it will take you about 8 minutes walk to get into the market on the east side but for MRT, the subway, you can enter right into the heart of the market on the west side. Jatujak nowaday is expanding and it will take you more than one full day to explore. The market is divided into several sections. If you need to visit any particular section, just ask anyone there you will get the answer with a smile. The merchandises are in a large variety. It might be a little warm for the western people but there will be many shop that are equipped with air-conditioner. To prepare yourself, you need to bring along a cloth to wipe your sweat and a bottle of water in case you are thirsty.
The market will be the most busy during the weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If you are going there more than 2 persons than you need to bring along your cell-phone in case you lose your party. In the center of the park, there is a clock tower which in the past you can spot it anywhere around the park but today, the shades and the canvas roof have shielded this landmark from your eyesight.
Most of the merchandises sold here has the reasonable price but you can negotiate. The merchants in the park are keen to sell their products and if the price you offered is not too offensive, you will get your deals and it might be the best deals in town.
During lunch time, there are many food stalls but the cleanliness may not up to the standard of the western people. If you don't want to risk your health with the diarrhea then you may take a bus and travel to the nearest shopping center called Central Lard Prow where you can find a very clean and better service than the one in the park. About the toilet facility, there are several places scattered around the park. You only need to ask any person who works there.
So I just wish all of you a very good time and enjoy shopping at the park.

ศิลปนิพนธ์ SENIOR THESIS PROJECT

ขณะนี่เวลา..ตีสองกว่า...ไม่อยากจะบอกตัวเองเลยว่าเวลานี้คือเวลาที่คนปกติทั่วไปเค้าหลับ เค้านอนกันจะหมดประเทศแล้ว

ธีซิส ธีซิสส...สู้เว่ยย!!


ตัวหนูตอนนี้วันๆก็ทำนี่แหละค่ะ ธีซิส หายใจเข้าเป็นเธอ หายใจออกเป็นธอ แม้ว่าบางวันหายใจติดขัดมันก็ย๊างจะเป็นเธออีก ธีซิสจ๋า เราใช้เวลาอยู่ด้วยกันจนจะเป็นญาติกันอยู่แล้ว(ขอบอกว่าใช้เวลาอยู่ด้วยมากกว่าอยู่กับพ่อไก่ซะอีก-*-)


ต้องขอขอบคุณคณะสถาปัตยกรรมและการผังเมืองของธรรมศาสตร์ ที่มีหลักสูตรการเรียน 4 ปีจบ ตัวหนูจึงได้มีโอกาสได้ลองรับมือกับ"ธีซิส"คนแรกของบรรดาเพื่อนผองที่เอนท์เข้าพร้อมกันทั้งหลาย(คณะสถาปัตย์ทั่วไปต้องเรียน 5 ปีค่ะ) ธีซิสนี้อาจารย์เค้าเปิดกว้างค่ะ โจทย์คือคุณเลือกมาเลยว่าจะศึกษาอะไร โดยมีคำแนะนำ(ปนขู่)ว่า คุณๆหน่ะต้องกลั่นกรองหัวข้อที่ต้องการจะทำให้ดีๆนะ เพราะพวกคุณจะต้องใช้เวลากับมันทั้งปี..บรื้ออ ประมาณว่าเลือกไม่ถูก ช้ำใจกล้ำกลืนไปจนตาย แถมมีสิทธิ์จะไม่จบเอาด้วย ตัวหนูใช้เวลาเรียบเรียงความชอบของตัวเองเกือบเดือน เขียนรายการหลายๆสิ่งที่ชอบทำ ชอบดู ชอบไป


เขียนรายการออกมาได้เกือบร้อยข้อ สุดท้ายหนูเลือกทำ "สถานีรถไฟหัวลำโพง" หนูชอบสถาปัตยกรรมสมัยร.5-ร.6 หนูชอบสถานที่สาธารณะ หนูชอบ ความเป็นคลาสิกของสถานที่..


...เอาจริงๆนะคะ หนูชอบเพราะตอนเด็กคุณแม่เคยพาไปเชียงใหม่ โดยขึ้นรถไฟตู้นอนไป ความรู้สึกตอน 8 ขวบมันเป็นอะไรที่ลืมไม่ลง สถานที่อะไรใหญ่ชะมัด แถมการได้นอนบนเตียงที่วิ่งอยู่บนรางได้..สุดยอดจริงๆ


ใช่ค่ะ แค่นั้นจริงๆ


ใช่อีกแหละค่ะ เพราะเหตุผลเด็กๆของหนูในวินาทีนั้น มันทำให้หนูนั่งอดหลับ อดนอนมาเป็นเวลา 2 - 3 เดือน ไปสถานที่จริง อ่านหนังสือ หาประวัติ ทำความเข้าใจกับ "คุณหัวลำโพง" ของหนู ตอนนี้ตัวหนูได้รู้จักกับคุณหัวลำโพงก็เกือบสนิทแล้วมั้งคะ อยากพาเอาคุณหัวลำโพงไปทำความรู้จักกับอาจารย์ และก็หวังว่าอาจารย์ทุกท่านจะชอบในตัวคุณหัวลำโพงอย่างที่ตัวหนูชอบบ้างจัง
