To get accustom to the Thai way of calculation in gold weight

Many persons know the term of "Baht" as the denomination of Thailand currency but in the gold society it will mean the standard unit weigth that every person in this kingdom used to. It has been used nationwide the same as "Tola" that is used in India and "Tael" that is used in the Chinese society. One Baht weight has two values and it is equal to 15.16 grams when it is referred to the weight of the gold chain or the gold ornament. The other value is 15.244 grams when it is referred to the weight of the gold bullion or gold bar.
The international unit weight that is used widely is " Troy Ounce ". One troy ounce is equal to 31.11 grams so one troy ounce is approximately a little bit over 2 Baht weights. Most of the price in the international market will be quoted in troy ounce and the currency is U.S.Dollar. So when we find out the current market price, we have to check with the currency exchange at the Bank of Thailand.
Then it is time to show how to convert the world market price into the Thai gold price. Since Thailand has the standard purity of gold at 96.5% then we have to take this number into consideration. Let suppose that the world market gold price is U.S.$1000.00 then the Thai gold price is 1000x33.5(the exchange rate of U.S.$1.00) divide with 31.11 and then time it with 15.244 then the answer is 16415. Which we can assume that the local price should be announced at 16500/16400 per baht wt.
